The ‘Hamilton’ cast performing ‘One Last Time’ at the White House will wreck you

President Obama’s farewell address was emotional, and it reminded many Americans of another President who said goodbye to move the country along: George Washington. In blockbuster Broadway hit Hamilton, this sentiment is expressed in musical form with the tune “One Last Time.”

Thanks to a video released Tuesday (nice timing!) from the Hamilton account, fans can now watch cast members Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson perform the song at the White House from last March (other videos from that concert have previously been released). Grab a tissue, or a box of tissues, or start tearing your clothes into tissue-sized strips.

If you haven’t seen Hamilton — and that’s totally fine with you and anyway what’s the big deal — the song is a conversation between Hamilton and Washington, the exiting President. He wants talk about neutrality, to warn against partisan fighting, and instead of staying in office — no matter how many people chant “Four more years!” — he believes his duty is to be a citizen and exit gracefully.
