Welcome to Netflix, Amy Schumer. The award-winning standup comedian, sketch writer and movie star will debut her latest comedy special on Netflix March 7.
“As a comedian, actress, writer, director, producer and best-selling author, Amy Schumer is a boundless threat and a one-of-a-kind talent. We couldn’t be more excited that she’s making Netflix her home for her next stand-up comedy special,” said Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a press release.
Schumer recorded the special in New York on Nov. 5, 2016, just shy of three months after the publication of her first book, The Girl WIth the Lower Back Tattoo. Her last special was released in Oct. 2015, equally spaced from the cinematic release of Trainwreck.
In 2017, Schumer will appear alongside Goldie Hawn in Snatched, and in the war drama Thank You For Your Service.
“Very happy to be a part of the Netflix family for this special,” Schumer said. “Maybe now they will look at my “Stranger Things” audition tape to play the demogorgon for Season 2.”
